We Are EDN

- An all-day dining experience

Amster Damn!

Client:
Hilton
Year:
2025

The first We Are EDN concept in the EMEAA region launched in the DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal. Hilton’s in-house creative consultancy StiR Creative Collective dreamt up the We Are EDN and they contracted WeWantMore to create a restaurant that reflects their sustainable vision through bold colors, natural materials, and curated artwork from local artists. The design called for a flexible all day dining experience, encouraging community and conscious enjoyment from morning to night.

The design challenge was twofold: to create a space that felt rooted in nature, while also capturing the creative energy of Amsterdam. A key part of this was curating artwork from Dutch artists that reflected Amsterdam. One highlight was a site-specific mural of flowering tulips that established an authentic connection to the local culture. The mural needed to express the client’s vision for a colourful aesthetic, and still harmonize with the restaurant's natural material palette.

Vibrant tones like forest green, terracotta orange, and natural wood make the space feel cozy, while artwork showcasing Dutch tulips. A mural by Jordy van den Nieuwendijk—showcasing Amsterdam icons— adorns closing cabinet doors, allowing design transitions between meal services. Amsterdam’s three-X symbol appears as a ceiling installation, while patterned seating, green tiling, and lush plant life create a lively interior.
